We are pleased to announce that Kirsty Potts and two Ngarluma Consultants recently conducted the Return to Country of the cultural material excavated from the Ngurin #1 archaeological site, as the final output from our project entitled ‘The Excavation of Ngurin #1 – Sharing Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi Heritage’. The Return to Country was conducted with the support, co-operation and involvement of, and under the cultural direction of, members of the Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation and the Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation. We have completed our statutory reporting on the project for the State and we intend to publish the results of the excavation and analysis soon.

We would like to thank the Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation, the Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation, the Ngarluma Elders Committee, the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi communities for their support and encouragement, as well as the Department of Environment and the Ngarluma Tharndu Karrunga Maya Limited who have contributed funding to this Project and we are very grateful for their support.
